The Â鶹´«Ã½ ABC Store is moving to a new location in two weeks.
Officials say the store will make the move without missing one day of business.
The Â鶹´«Ã½ ABC Store's new location is about 10,000 square feet.
Renovations started last year at the new store at 412 A W. Fleming Drive, Morganton, in the Tannery Square shopping center. The space once housed the Salvation Army thrift store.
Steve Gregory, chairman of the Â鶹´«Ã½ ABC Board, said the current location at 250 W. Fleming Drive, Morganton, will close at 9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, move on Feb. 16 and open at the new location at 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 17.

Gregory said shelving is in at the new location, new flooring is complete and one shipment of alcohol has been delivered. Another is expected on Feb. 6.
“So we'll have it fully stocked before we ever close the other store,†Gregory said.

The new Â鶹´«Ã½ ABC Store has an epoxy colored floor with abstract blues, browns and grays. The ABE store is expected to move in on Feb. 16 and open on Feb. 17.Â
The new location is double the size of the current one. The store will go from 5,000 square feet, including the warehouse, to 10,000 square feet, with a showroom of around 6,500 feet, Gregory said. There will be enough space for a cooler, more liquor products, including flavored vodka. The store will also host a greater selection of bourbons and tequila to meet growing demand, he said previously.
In addition to more space, the store will offer a tasting bar with six bar stools where vendors and companies can offer tastings of their products from 4 to 7 p.m. on a Friday and noon to 4 p.m. on a Saturday, Gregory said. By state statute, the store isn’t allowed to advertise those tastings but the vendors are allowed to, he said.
Gregory said he believes the new location will be the largest liquor store, per square foot, in the state.
A grand opening is planned for Feb. 24.

As for the current store, the ABC board is in the process of selling the property to Case Farms for $600,000, Gregory said.
The Salvation Army thrift store is still looking for a home.
Salvation Army Development Director Andrea Beatty said the organization is still in negotiations for a potential location.
