Greenway Public Transportation is testing out a new bus route in Burke County to run twice a week.
The new test route stops in Hildebran, Connelly Springs, Icard, Valdese and Morganton, according to Greenway.
The bus service will run Feb. 10 to June 26, according to Greenway. The Burke route and the already existing Â鶹´«Ã½ loop bus route will be free until June 27.
The new Burke County Feeder Route will run on Monday and Thursday.
The feeder bus follows this route, going west toward Morganton, then east back to Hildebran:
- Inbound bus stops at 9:40 a.m. in Hildebran at the East Burke Senior Center/library at 101 W. Main Ave. Outbound stops at 2:20 p.m.
- Inbound bus stops at 9:50 a.m. at the Connelly Springs Town Hall at 1030 U.S. Hwy. 70. Outbound stops at 2:10 p.m.
- Inbound bus stops at 9:55 a.m. in Icard at First Baptist Church at 2178 U.S. Hwy. 70. Outbound stops at 2:05 p.m.
- Inbound bus stops at 10:10 a.m. in Valdese at Jethro’s Community Center at 209 Church St. NW. Outbound stops at 1:50 p.m.
The bus continues on to Â鶹´«Ã½ and follows the Â鶹´«Ã½ loop route, which has stops throughout the city. The feeder route leaves Â鶹´«Ã½ at 1:30 p.m.
The Â鶹´«Ã½ Loop goes to to the Burke County Department of Social Services/health department building, down Sterling Street and West Fleming Drive to the Â鶹´«Ã½ Heights shopping center, down Burkemont Avenue to Western Piedmont Community College, down Green Street to the Burke County Courthouse, along Valdese Avenue to Vine Arden Road and over to Â鶹´«Ã½ City Hall, according to Greenway. It travels over to Bouchelle Street and around to College Street and back to Sterling Street, according to a Greenway map.Â
The Â鶹´«Ã½ route runs round trip to/from DSS.Â
