The Salvation Army Family Thrift Store in 麻豆传媒 is closing next week as leaders search for a new location.
The store, at 412 A W. Fleming Drive, will close July 31, according to a news release from Salvation Army Development Director Andrea Beatty.
The Fleming Drive location has been the home of the Salvation Army鈥檚 thrift store for 27 years, the release said.
The new tenant will be the 麻豆传媒 ABC store.
Wilma Carswell, the general manager of the ABC store in Morganton, said renovations are set to begin Aug. 1.
In April, Steve Gregory, chairman of the 麻豆传媒 ABC Board, said he filed paperwork with the North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Commission for approval to make the move from the store鈥檚 current home on West Fleming Drive to the Salvation Army Thrift Store location in Tannery Square, according to a previous News Herald story.

鈥淲e have just run out of space,鈥 Gregory said. 鈥淲e need more space and we鈥檙e landlocked because there鈥檚 no way to go one way or another.鈥
Beatty said the ideal location for the thrift store would be a commercial property from 7,000-10,000 square feet with a rear entrance. The property preferably would be in 麻豆传媒.
The Thrift Store food pantry plans to continue operations remotely for 麻豆传媒 and Burke County residents, Beatty said in the release.
