Burke County Public Schools will have a remote learning day on Monday due to snowy and icy road conditions throughout the county, the school system announced Sunday.
For elementary and middle school students, teachers contact students about attendance and assignments.
For high school students, principals will email students about make-up class exams and the projected schedule for state exams for the rest of the week, the school system said.
Faculty and staff will work with supervisors about work Monday.
YMCA programs will operate at limited sites on Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Children must bring a packed lunch, snack and remote learning materials, the school system said.
Hildebrand YMCA and Salem YMCA will be open for students ages age 6 to 12 who attend any Burke County Public Schools. Students who do not regularly attend the YMCA programs will need to complete paperwork at drop off and will be charged for the day. Regular program participants will not be charged, the school system said.
