Nobel Peace Prize awarded to Japanese organization of atomic bombing survivors Nihon Hidankyo

The prize was awarded to the organization, also known as Hibakusha, for its activism against nuclear weapons. Chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee Joergen Watne Frydnesv praised its efforts in "demonstrating through witness testimony that nuclear weapons must never be used again."
