The call to police came at 10:57 a.m. Monday. A second grade student called 911 to report the shooting.
How many people were killed?
Police the shooter killed two people, a teacher and a teenage student, and injured six people. Two students are in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, two others are still in the hospital and two people have been released from the hospital.

What do police know about the shooter?
Madison police have identified the shooter as 15-year-old Natalie Rupnow, who went by the name Samantha. She was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital. Police said she used a handgun in the shooting, and they are working to determine how she got it.
On Monday afternoon, police searched a North Side home that Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes said the search is related to the shooting.Â

Police arrived at the scene three minutes after the report of a shooting, Barnes said. Twenty-four seconds later, and officer entered the building.Â

No. Police said authorities did not fire any shots in the incident.
