Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law and a very special grandmother to Tonya. She had a special bond with Tonya and was always there for her with love and support whenever Tonya needed a role model and someone to lean on. Elizabeth and Tonya spent many special times together over her lifetime. During Elizabeth's illness, Tonya was by her side every day helping her heal and caring for her grandmother. Elizabeth loved her family dearly and made sure that her family knew how much they meant to her. Elizabeth will be greatly missed by her family.
After attending Â鶹´«Ã½ High School, Elizabeth graduated from Bristol Business School. She also completed multiple courses in interior design which became her passion. Elizabeth opened and operated House of Décor in Â鶹´«Ã½ and Statesville, NC. After meeting the love of her life, Fred Coe, she closed her business in Statesville and moved to Dallas, TX where she successfully reopened her business under the name of Expressly Yours Interior Designs. Her work was featured twice in the Dallas City Magazine. Several years later, Eliabeth and Fred relocated to the Atlanta, GA area where she again re-established her design business. Her work was also featured in the Atlanta City Magazine. In 2000, Elizabeth and Fred retired to the Statesville, NC area. During their retirement, they enjoyed extensive travel across the continental United States, Hawaii, Europe, Japan, Puerto Rico, Mexico and the Caribbean Islands. After the passing of her beloved husband, Elizabeth moved back to Â鶹´«Ã½ to be closer to family.
The family would like to recognize our home health nurses for all the care and love that they showed to Elizabeth and our family. Additionally, we would also like to recognize the wonderful care that the UNC Blue Ridge ICU Department nurses and physicians provided to Elizabeth over the last two years. The wonderful care that you gave to Elizabeth allowed us to have an additional two years with her that will always be cherished.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the funeral home with Reverend Keith Rose and Pastor Faye Acuff officiating. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Park.
