Emory & Henry scored three touchdowns in the final quarter to hand the Lenoir-Rhyne a 31-20 loss in Virginia on Saturday. It was the first loss of the season for LR.
Lenoir-Rhyne (4-1, 2-1) led by 10 in the third quarter after DeAree Rogers caught a 34-yard touchdown pass from Jalen Ferguson to make it 17-7. Emory & Henry (4-1, 2-1) outscored LR 24-3 in the final 19 minutes of the game.
Ferguson went 25-for-36 for 265 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. Rogers caught six of those passes for 85 yards and a touchdown. Alex Boyd rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown.
Maddox Aprile, Tyriek Johnson, and Andre Jefferson combined for three sacks for 20 yards.
Lenoir-Rhyne will be at home on Saturday where they will take on Newberry (1-3, 1-1).
