The following are the Pets of the Week at Burke County Animal Services:
Hossie: This sweet older dog is looking for his forever home. He is about 4 years old and neutered. He came to the shelter with a severe dermatitis issue, which is under treatment and healing well. He is a sweet dog who would love nothing more than a warm sweater and a blanket to snuggle in with you. He is doing well around other animals.Â
Little Drummer Boy: This 2-year-old neutered dog is one of the shelter's longest residents. He is sweet and he loves to play and run, but would also love a cuddle partner to watch a movie. He is doing well around other animals. He is waiting on his right person.

Sno-Toes: This cat is ready for his forever home. He is about 8 months old. He is currently in foster and is doing fantastic. He came from a feral cat colony and has had to learn how people can truly love on him. He is doing well around other cats. His sister, Sahara, and another brother are also available for adoption. They will be coming back to the shelter soon, so inquire about them now. They are super sweet and love to cuddle.Â
Sahara: The sister to Sno-Toes, she is not short of being adorable. She is learning to love and cuddle. She is around 8 months old. She is doing well in foster and is doing great around other cats. She will be coming back to the shelter soon.
All adoptions include up-to-date vaccines, preventatives, a spay or neuter, and dogs will be heartworm tested.
Animal services is in need of food donations for its community pet food bank, which goes to help pets of those in need. Donations can be dropped off or mailed to Burke County Animal Services at 425 Kirksey Drive, Morganton, NC 28655.
Those in need of pet food can stop by animal services and fill out a one-time informational form and let them know what you need.
