'Gossip Girl' Star Michelle Trachtenberg Cause Of Death Revealed

“Buffy the Vampire Slayer†and “Gossip Girl†actress Michelle Trachtenberg died from complications of diabetes mellitus, according to the New York City medical examiner’s office. The 39-year-old actress was found unconscious and unresponsive in a Manhattan apartment on Feb. 26 and was pronounced dead at the scene. Initially, the cause and manner of death were listed as “undetermined,†but recent toxicology results led officials to rule her death as natural. No autopsy was conducted due to religious objections from her family, a spokesperson for the medical examiner’s office confirmed. Trachtenberg began her acting career at age 3 and gained early recognition through roles in “The Adventures of Pete & Pete†and “All My Childrenâ€. She achieved stardom with her performance in the 1996 film “Harriet the Spy†and continued to rise in prominence through television. Her portrayal of complex, emotionally layered young women left a lasting impression on fans and critics alike.
