Trump's tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China explained

U.S. President Donald Trump's tariffs against Canada and Mexico led to retaliatory taxes by both countries on U.S. imports. Trump said the tariffs on the two neighboring countries were designed to stop illegal immigration and the illicit fentanyl trade. He also placed an additional 10% tariff on imports from China with the stated goal of stopping the production of fentanyl. The AP's Cara Rubinsky explains
