A Â鶹´«Ã½ restaurant that closed after Hurricane Helene will be opening in a new location.
Casa Mexico Restaurant Bar & Grill, which was in the former Harbor Inn Seafood site on Sterling Street in Morganton, closed down in early October.
But Luis Garcia, an owner of Casa Mexico, said he plans to reopen in the former Zeko’s Village location in the Magnolia Plaza on Burkemont Avenue. In addition to its food menu, the restaurant will have a full service bar.
Garcia said the restaurant wasn’t able to open for five days due to Hurricane Helene and that’s when the owners decided to move to the Burkemont Avenue location. Casa Mexico did not reopen at the Sterling Street location after the hurricane.
Garcia said he likes the new location and thinks it will be better for business. He said the Sterling Street location was a little too big for them.

He hopes the Burkemont Avenue restaurant will open sometime in January but the date will depend on inspections.
Casa Mexico Bar & Grill opened at its Sterling Street location more than a year ago. Casa Mexico also has a location in Taylorsville, which opened in 2018.
