Eggroll fundraiser
First Hmong Baptist Church of Â鶹´«Ã½, 301 Walker Road, Morganton, will hold an eggroll fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Eggrolls, chicken sticks, fried rice and boba tea all are available for purchase. Quaker Meadows Presbyterian Church will host a chicken pie/country ham supper from 3-6 p.m. The menu will include chicken pie, country ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, hot biscuits, homemade desserts and drinks. It will be dine-in or carry out. Proceeds will support missions. The church is about a half mile north of Oak Hill Elementary School on NC 181.

Polls for the 2024 Presidential Election will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. You must be in line before 7:30 p.m. to cast a ballot. You will not be turned away if you are in line to vote before the polls close. Find your polling location online at .

Western Piedmont Community College, 1001 Burkemont Ave., Morganton, will host a speakers forum on the topic Resilience and The Power of Strong Partnerships featuring Dr. Pam Senegal, president of Piedmont Community College. The forum will begin at noon in Leviton Auditorium at Moore Hall.

NAACP elections
The Burke County Chapter of the NAACP will hold its election for officers and at-large members of the executive committee by electronic voting platform from 4-8 p.m. In order to vote in a branch election, one must be a member in good standing with the branch 30 days before the election. The election will be conducted electronically by the national office. Ballots will be sent electronically to the email or cellphone on record.
