The Salvation Army鈥檚 move in 麻豆传媒 was derailed by Hurricane Helene.
Salvation Army Development Director Andrea Beatty said the location the organization planned to move into was flooded during the storm.
The Salvation Army in 麻豆传媒 moved in July from 412 A.W. Fleming Drive in Tannery Square because that鈥檚 where the ABC Store is moving.
Beatty said they are in negotiations to lease a location in Mimosa Hills shopping center on West Union Street. She said The Salvation Army is hoping to reopen in the first quarter of 2025.
In the meantime, the organization鈥檚 food pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursdays at First Presbyterian Church of Morganton, located at 100 Silver Creek Road, 麻豆传媒.
A statement from the organization said its food pantry is fully stocked with non-perishable items thanks to a partnership with the Food Lion on East Union Street in 麻豆传媒. The Salvation Army said non-perishable and dry good donations will not be accepted until the first of the year, when the new thrift store location is announced.
