A family from Connelly Springs lost their home in a fire on Saturday.
The fire at 1934 Wortman St., Connelly Springs, destroyed the home, according to Robert Bishop, interim chief fire marshal for Burke County.
Four people were inside the home, but all four escaped the fire without injury, Bishop said.
Bishop said the cause of the fire still is under investigation, but no foul play is suspected.
A GoFundMe fundraiser started to help the family said Treyton Bigelow grew up in the home. He and his wife, Sydney, their 1-year-old, Ellie, and Bigelow’s younger brother, Tate, were home at the time of the fire, but managed to escape. The GoFundMe said the family lost everything in the fire and any donations will be used to find housing, clothing or childcare as they figure out their next steps.
