A man was injured in an officer-involved shooting in Caldwell County on Monday.
Deputies with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic dispute at 1124 Smithfield Drive in Hudson shortly after 9 p.m. on Monday, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Aaron Barlowe said.
Barlowe said the deputies encountered a white male armed with a handgun. This encounter led to the officer-involved shooting, Barlowe said.
The man was initially transported via ambulance to UNC Health Blue Ridge-Â鶹´«Ã½. He was later transferred to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.
The man was in stable condition as of Tuesday afternoon, Barlowe said.
The deputies involved in the shooting are on administrative leave until the case is reviewed by the Caldwell County District Attorney’s Office, Barlowe said.
